What is involved in mold remediation?

Mold remediation involves mold clean up and removal by EHS Restoration specialists to address the damage and health risks associated with mold. Cleaning with bleach and water will not kill mold. Moldy material must be removed and the damaged area reconstructed; therefore mold remediation is best left to a professional trained to handle hazardous material and eliminate the spread of mold to other rooms. Expert mold remediation includes:

Assessment - EHS Restoration will come into your home to identify moldy areas as well as the source of the problem. He will then formulate a mold remediation plan.

Containment - The source of the moisture problem is addressed and the affected area is closed off to avoid contaminating the rest of your home with mold spores stirred up during the removal process.

Removal - Building materials and personal belongings in your home can be affected. Since mold is a living organism and deeply ingrains itself into materials to survive, it is best to dispose of anything porous. The safest and most effective way to ensure mold doesn’t return is to remove affected material.

Repair - The reconstruction process will begin after all mold-contaminated materials are removed. Clean, mold-free materials will replace what was previously contaminated.

Professional, knowledgable and fair!

The initial phone call was full of relevant questions to determine what my concern was. We were able to schedule at a convenient time for me and the inspector showed up within the time-frame with a courtesy call to tell me how far out he was. When he came he patiently walked through the home with me to inspect all the areas that I was concerned with. We had moved into a 31 year old home less than a year ago and my children and nanny had been having allergy issues for the past 6-8 months. The previous owners had done a lot of short-cuts so the inspector listened to all of my concerns and inspected the sinks, showers, 3 water heaters, and faucets thoroughly. Even though there was no sign of mold he gave some great advice on how to proceed with replacing areas of concern and what to do when we replace some wood panels under sinks. I would highly recommend this company to others. The inspection was free but if he had found something worth testing for I would have certainly taken the recommendation.
