Tax credits are running out

If you purchase an energy-efficient product or renewable energy system
for your home, you may be eligible for a federal tax credit. Tax credits
are available, at thirty percent of the cost, up to one thousand five
hundred dollars total, only until the end of this year. Keep this in mind,
before you do any type of kitchen, bathroom remodeling or room addition
to your home. Many items that qualify for these rebates are: windows,
doors, insulation, roof, water heater, and heating systems.
However, there are smaller projects which can save energy and pay big without
costing you a bunch. Such as upgrading bathroom fixtures by converting
to low flow toilets, shower heads or replacing leaky faucets. Ditching
that old fridge in the garage will save about two hundred dollars or more
a year before a rebate.
